Sorrow

My favorites
Utterly Alone
Eden Penny
My nose whistles, slicing through the air.
Utterly alone
Sweat and fear fill my prayer.
Whispers turn to screams.
"Leave" I tell them "let me sleep!"
In peace I entered Eden, peace stayed when I left.
I wander and wander, when will I find rest?
Whispers of this freedom... or were they just passing birds?
The unknown is cold on my face.
How much longer?
No one knows.
Endurance is painful.
Fears maggots eat me away, maybe I'll die young.
Naked
My heart lies.
It's been touched and prodded by people it does not belong to.
"That's mine!" I want to shout, but no words leave my mouth.
Out in the open fear feasts, and I watch.
It's gone, so why am I still alive? Let me die.
Now I'm naked too.
Must you take it all?
Is no part of my mine any longer?
Let this woman die alone, the way it was meant to be.
Stop pushing.
I won't have it.
It's mine
It's mine
It's mine
I'll tug out my hair, scratch out my eyes, I can't feel it anyway.
But you find a way to take what's mine.
Just leave. me. alone.
